Course Description All the programs of NLTBC are designed to include the necessary coursework to equip our graduates for the various disciplines in the ministry. This coursework includes general education courses, such as Church History, Homiletics and Christian Counseling. Each course is 3 credit hours. IT 101 - Intro to Critical Thinking I
This course is desgined to assist the student in using reason to investigate questions, evaluate ideas, advocate positions, and resolve conflicts within a Christian environment. Students will learn to appreciate the value and rewards of higher learning.
IT 201 - Intro to Critical Thinking II
This course is a continuation of Critical Thinking I.
TH 102 – Life Management, God’s Way I
This course examines how we manage our lives in every area from a biblical perspective. We will cover in this course time management, management by organization, talent management, vision management, excellence and life management, body, marriage and family management.
TH 103 – Life Management, God’s Way II
This course is a continuation of Life Management, God’s Way I.
TH 104 – Prayer I
This course is the study of what prayer is, how to approach God, various types of prayer, the importance of prayer, hindrances to prayer, prayer and agreement also praying in the spirit, etc.
BOT 230 – Old Testament Studies I
This study will outline in detail the first five books of the Old Testament from the book of Genesis to Deuteronomy. The course will cover what life was like, how these books were arranged, and how to approach the Old Testament.
BOT 240 – Old Testament Studies II
This course covers the historical books of the Old Testament. It will cover an intense survey and outline of the historical records from the book of Joshua to Esther.
TH 108 – Bible Doctrines I
This course is a systematic study of the various doctrines of concerning God and His Kingdom. The study of doctrines is vital to the very characterization of the Church and its core belief structure. Without this course many believers will never be capable of combating false doctrines.

TH 107 – Between the Testaments
This is a study of the inter-testamental period which covers the six periods of Jewish history, setting up the New Testament, Greek and Roman background, physical and political settings as well as God’s final revelation.
BTH 104 - New Testament Survey
This is a study concentrating on the historical and contextual elements of the New Testament era. This class will validate the importance of understanding the message of the Gospels, the various epistles as well as John’s Revelation.
TH 301 - ACTS
This course introduces the student to the book of Acts. This study will define the events of the Church and Apostles and how they evolved into a mighty force groomed to spread the Gospel of Christ to the world.
TH 207a – Ministry Preparation:a (Proper Attitude)
This is the first in the series of three courses dealing with ministry preparation. In this course we will learn what the proper attitudes for someone aspiring to be a minister of the Gospel. Some areas covered are a proper attitude, a need for change, the elements of a servant, and functions of a servant and the paradox of greatness.
TH 207b – Ministry Preparation:b (Motivational Gifts)
This is the second course in the series of three dealing with ministry preparation. This course is a study in the “Motivational Gifts”. Included in this study will be the gifts of Prophesy, Teaching, Serving, Exhortation, Giving, Organization and Mercy.
TH 207c – Ministry Preparation:c (Ministry of Helps)
This is the third course in the series of three dealing with ministry preparation. This course is a study in the “Ministry of Helps”. It will cover the anointing of the Ministry of Helps, having a vision and general principles and guidelines, etc.
BTH 204 – New Testament History I
This course covers the ascension of the Church and its persecution then walks the student through the historicity of the Church Fathers which include Clement, Ignatius, Ploycarp, the Didache even the conversion of Constantine. It will conclude with the entrance of the Reformation.
BTH 204a – New Testament History II
The second half of this course picks up from the Reformation period introducing the student to reformers such as Martin Luther, John Calvin, Tyndale, Cranmer, Knox and others. From the Reformation the student will be guided through an array of historical Church movements up to the modern day Church.
BTH 304 –Homiletics
This class provides a thorough discussion of homiletic principles. Principles would include: the foundations of the sermon, classification of sermons, elements of sermons as well as preparation and delivery of sermons. Students will also have the opportunity to deliver a mini sermon to student faculty.
TH 210 – Systematic Theology I
This is a systematic study which discusses the existence, character, and attributes of God, his laws and government. It defines the doctrines we are to believe, and the duties we are to apply.
TH 220 – Systematic Theology II
This course is a continuation of I. It will indulge in the study of man, Christ, angels and demons. It will explore the person, the work of Christ, angels and demons, including their work and destiny.
BTH 305 – Life & Teachings of Christ
The student is introduced to the ministry of Jesus the Christ. The student is brought face to face with the Gospels which are our principle sources of knowledge for the life of Christ. This course will engage the student to get hold of the true meaning and message of Christ’s life and teachings.
BPR 333 – Prophecy I
This is class is designed to guide the student to a full understanding in the purpose, qualifications and the movement in the gift of Prophecy. It will help the student to acquire a working knowledge of this wonderful spiritual gift.
BPR 334 - Prophecy II
It is the continuation of I, however it will further define the characteristic of a prophet and introduce students to various prophetic characters.
BTH 341 – Ephesians I
The student will be graced with a biblical exposition of chapters 1-4 of the book of Ephesians. The student will be given an overview of a glorious Church.
BTH 342 – Ephesians II
Here is the conclusion of the book of Ephesians picking up at chapter 5 thru 6. It will cover topics like: dwelling in God’s presence, walking in the light, being filled with Spirit, God’s Armor and a host more of topics.
BTH 350 – Intro to Evangelism
This course will engage the student to recognize the value of Evangelism. It is a course designed to help the student win the world for Christ.
TH 307, 308 – Romans I & II
This course offers the student one of the greatest opportunities to observe and learn about the Apostle Paul’s core beliefs. The book of Romans discloses many of Paul’s foundational anthem concerning doctrines such as justification, predestination, redemption, salvation and more. It is believed to be one of the greatest books exposing Christian doctrines.
TH 443- Minor Prophets
This class brings to life the books of the 12 Minor Prophets. The student will be able to glance at the historical times and surroundings of a three hundred year span, and hopefully be enticed to notice the beautiful imagery of the various prophecies that pointed toward the deliverance of all men.
TH 444 -Major Prophets
This course introduces the student to the 5 Major Prophets. It will clarify to the spectator a distinction in the various styles and message of these great men and how they became the precursor to the coming Messiah.
BPA 333 - Hermeneutics I & II
Hermeneutics is defined as the art and science of Biblical interpretation. Learning to interpret scripture is as valuable as the air we breathe. This is a class every student and laymen should desire to have under their belt. It will provide students with the necessary principles needed to expose the Word of God correctly.
BPA 375 - Comparative World Religions
This class opens up the world of diverse Religions. The student will get a birds-eye view on the various religious organizations and how they vary in comparison to the Christian experience.
BPA 385 - Christian Ethics
This class offers the student an eye opening experience in Christian moral standards. It will enlighten the student to the various dilemmas concerning the Biblical persona of ethical values and choice.
BTH 383 - Pauline Epistles
Considered one of the greatest theologians of the Christian faith, this class will explore the various epistles of Paul and how they play an intricate role in the cherished doctrines of the Church today.
LAG 401,402,403 - Greek I,II & III
This class introduces the student to the language of Koine Greek. From the alphabet to declining nouns and parsing verbs, the student will be inundated with the true value, importance and proper application of this biblical language toward the Word of God.
AD 201 – Principles of Leadership I
This course is an overview of the fundamentals and dynamics of leadership, its basic impact and related teachings.
AD 202 – Principles of Leadership II
This course continues the study of leadership with emphasis on the personal qualities of a leader.
TH 204 – General Epistles I
This is an in-depth study of the general Epistles, James, I and II Peter, I, II and III John and Jude.
